Boston Braves play their last game at Braves Field.

September 21, 1952

The Braves lose to the Brooklyn Dodgers 8-2 before 8,822 fans in the last game of the season at Braves Field. The team finishes in seventh place and draws only 281,278 fans for the season (it had finished first and drawn a league-leading 1.5 million in 1948). Braves owner Lou Perini abruptly announces the team is moving to Milwaukee for the upcoming season on March 13, 1953. They are the first major league to change locations since 1903.
